  1. I like the idea. I haven't been able to listen to the music yet but I like your idea of animating drawings. To cut them out and move them, you could either do it in Photoshop by actually cutting piece out and putting them on separate layers or you might be able to mask out the background in after effects and add a layer and mask the body so you can just move the arms. Photoshop would probably be easier though. Cool idea :)

  2. This looks like a really cool idea, I think the prepping and rigging for animation will be time consuming, but well worth it.

  3. Interesting idea I think executing it will take some time so plan for that.

  4. I love this idea! I think the subtly of the drawings coming to life can really turn out beautifully. I'm excited to see some progress!

  5. I like some of the drawings i have seen you do, and you seem to have a knack for illustration, so it makes sense to me to follow this direction. Sooo much you can do in AE with just parented layers (or Duiks for that matter). If you are using an existing soundtrack, I encourage you to use Premiere to assemble all the work with sound and Use After Effects to create little sequences/compositions (bits and pieces i call them) to play with. They need to be fairly high rez to give you any options of zooming in. Try exporting a verison of a high rez (at least 300dpi-print rez) and also a version at 72 dpi and play with them in comps in AE to get a feeling for enlarging or zooming in if they are 3d layers and the rez you will require as you make your images. Notice the dynamics of Rivers last piece with just 3d layers and a camera dolly. Seems like the soundtrack will be your concept, which i haven't heard, but would encourage you to not approach it literally and show us what they are saying.
